Financial support from CRDA, along with the Bank of America, historical tax credits and NGM Insurance has allowed the redevelopment project of 179 Allyn Street to proceed. The developer, Dakota Partners, LLC of Waltham, Massachusetts converted the historical commercial office building into a mixed-use property with 63 one-bedroom apartments above existing street-level commercial space currently occupied by Club Nv and Black Bear Saloon.
CRDA assisted the $14.89 million conversion project with a $6.5 million contribution in the form of a $3,250,000 loan with a 0.5 percent interest rate. The other $3,250,000 is in equity investment. Dakota Partners are experienced residential developers with a number of completed residential development projects in Massachusetts. One seventy-nine Allyn Street is the first project Dakota Partners has sponsored in Connecticut. The apartments will be 80 percent market/20 percent affordable rate rental units.
The 63 one-bedroom units were available for lease on December 1, 2014. There are no application fees. All you need to move in is a $99 holding deposit which goes towards your $500 security deposit at move-in and your first month’s rent.
